God made us all with unique abilities and gifts for a purpose. We discover these through ministry - service to each other. Ministry isn't just for professional vicars with dog collars. We believe that discovering and using our talents is essential for every Christian, it's what we're made for.

How do we follow Jesus? The Freedom in Christ course is a chance to explore this in depth, starting from who God made us to be, through to how God wants us to live.
Over 100,000 Christians in the UK have found this course to be helpful, and Pip n Jay is offering a chance to join in starting on Wednesday 3rd February.

The Aim
To provide a channel through which the family at Pip ‘n’ Jay can access help, both practical and spiritual. In this way we hope to bless the church family and be a witness for Jesus. In John 13:35 Jesus says, ‘All men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.’

Have you signed up yet to participate in the training for an expanded and reconstructed team? If not, please pick up a form at the back of the church, which is self-explanatory; complete the tear-off slip at the bottom and either hand to Gary Cox or put it in the offering plate. We are particularly keen to have the younger generation involved in this ministry, and encourage them to attend the training — even if you eventually decide not to be part of the new team. You can learn a lot about helping, serving, and being a blessing to others. |

As a church we aim to encourage all members to develop and use their abilities and gifts. We seek to provide ways to discover and affirm spiritual giftings and ministries, and to help each member find the areas of ministry God has for them in church life. Several small groups have used an eight-week S.H.A.P.E. study course to help identify their ministries. We then put this into practice, supporting existing ministry workers and gradually drawing people together into new or extended teams. We appreciate the best of what is happening, and carry forward expertise from shared experiences. We also aim to provide Jesus-led pastoral ministries. We encourage members to build their experience, to be able to give non-professional counselling and pastoral care, and we train pastoral workers. We seek wisdom to decide as a church where and how God wants us to work. We aim to reach out into the community, to help those in need, and to provide care and support to members of the church. It is also our aim to welcome newcomers and help them fit into the church family and body. We seek to build up the welcoming team, and to encourage members to organise and provide personal hospitality. If you have any questions or you would like to contribute, please contact Rod Thompson. |
