Giving

In January 2013 we took a fresh look at God as the source of "Radical Generosity" which we can join in with. If you would like to respond by giving time, talents or money, here are the useful practical details.
Bringing ourselves to God
As a first priority, we want to consider giving as a response to God, and the first thing he asks us to give is ourselves. Sundays are a good place to work this out, and we would also encourage you to pray and seek God together with us on the first Wednesday of every month at 8pm in church.
Time and talents
Volunteers at Pip n Jay do some amazing things, from serving homeless people with food, to using creative talents to make inspiring artwork and music. These and many other practical forms of service can make a big difference in our community.
We have been asking church members what would help them to get involved with volunteering, and we'll publish new opportunities to get involved as they come up.
Meanwhile if you would like to volunteer in any capacity, please contact our People and Finance Administrator Kirsty Ryninks.
Giving money
Your generous contributions have a huge effect on lives in Bristol and beyond. You can see from the chart above (how the church gave and spent money in 2012) that most of our income went out to support the wider church and individuals on mission, both in our region and around the world.
The best way to give if you can is by standing order - this helps us to budget and it's convenient for you. Please contact our treasurer for the bank account details you need to set this up. You can also give by cash or cheque to "SS Philip and Jacob Vestry".
If you are a UK taxpayer, signing a Gift Aid declaration will cost you nothing but add 25% to the value of your gifts. The form for this is in the PDF below, or you can get one from the treasurer.
Giving policy and Accounts
You can read more about how we process Gift Aid and make decisions about the causes the church charity supports in our Giving policy, most recently approved by the PCC in March 2013.
There are more details about the church's income and expenditure in our annual accounts, available in church and up for approval at the church Annual General Meeting on March 17th.
