The bible says that if we do not put what we learn into practice, we don't just forget the learning, we forget who we are. So practical service is essential for us. It's not just about doing good, it's about being as good as we were made to be. Serving God, by serving the people he loves, is where we find life as good as it gets.

Sunday lunchPip n Jay Hospitality – Sunday Lunches

To welcome people, Pip n Jay members take it in turn to offer lunches in their homes after Sunday morning services. This has been a great opportunity to get to know those new to the church, some at their first visit and those who are finding their way as new believers or are new to Bristol or otherwise are alone.

Please think and pray how you could join the team, to prepare a meal in your home around four or five times each year, or less if you choose. Hosts could be families or others joining together to offer this Christian service and witness.

For all of us who have a home and could make food to share, please think about sharing this hospitality role.

Please contact Pip Morton to join the current rota or to find out more:

CoffeePip n Jay Hospitality Teams

For many years Pip n Jay Home Groups and other Small Groups have taken it in turn to provide the coffee, tea and squash after each service. Each team brings milk, prepares before the service, then makes and serves the drinks, washes up and clears the kitchen. Many however do not belong to such a group and therefore are not asked to help.

From this Spring onwards, every one of us who attends Pip ‘n’ Jay will have the opportunity to join a Pip ‘n’ Jay Hospitality Team, to serve the needs of others. Please do so, to make as many teams as possible.

This will be a church-wide change to hospitality teams, to be formed by men and women volunteers from all parts of the church body, plus younger teams if properly supervised. Home Groups and other Small Groups will have the choice to re-volunteer to be part of the new extended rota.

Ask friends to join you to form new teams of 5 or 6 people or more. Alternatively, please volunteer as an individual, to be linked up with others to form a team. You might decide to be part of more than one group, depending on your willingness to serve in this way, to minister to others. Depending on the total number of teams, each might be on duty 6 or 7 times a year. Each team will sign up for a year at a time, saying if it is available for morning and/or evening services.

Please contact Rosemarie Taylor to volunteer as an individual or as a team:

Hospitality Coordinators

Please also consider if your ministry could be as one of two new Hospitality Coordinators, to promote and support the Hospitality Teams, to help all to produce great refreshments every week.

For more information on the range of ministry roles available within Pip n Jay and opportunities to serve the wider community, see Rod Thompson - Tel 0117 9624366, as Ministry Coordinator.
