AlphaTHE MEANING OF LIFE IS _______ . Fill in the blanks on an alpha course. Our alpha course explores the meaning of life, and alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting.

At the end of 2010 we ran a seven week alpha course in the church alongside a course that was run in Bern and Helen's housegroup and we joined together for the weekend away at the end of November down in Seaton, Devon. As always, the courses were an encouragement in so many different ways as they helped us all on our different journeys towards understanding how Jesus is relevant for our lives.

At Pip'n'Jay, we've been discussing plans for the use of alpha materials throughout our church life in 2011.

We are encouraging housegroups to run small alpha courses in their homes, which can be done easilythrough the use of the student alpha material which, along with the weekend away, covers the course in 7 weeks, rather than the original 10 weeks. This is especially relevant for those who would prefer to attend a course in someone's homes than in church. If you would be interested in finding out if a housegroup near you is running alpha, then please contact me using link below.

The latest alpha talks that we use can be found on http://studentalpha.org . Holy Trinity Brompton have shared that there are an increasing number of churches using the student alpha material for their main courses. I think it is great - have a look, and it will hopefully encourage you to come along to an alpha course so that you also have the forum to discuss your own views and what you have seen!

Our next Church-based central alpha course

Our next course to be run centrally in the church, is being done at a different time of year (i.e. not the autumn term) and on a different evening (i.e. not a Wednesday night, as we have done in recent years). The course will be in the seven weeks that make up the second half of the summer term on a Monday evening i.e. Monday 6 June to Monday 18 July

If you would more information about the alpha course in general or getting involved in one at Pip'n'Jay, or would like to register your interest in attending the course in June / July, then please contact me, Andy Macpherson.
