If you have ever asked questions like "Is there more to life than this?; "What am I doing here?"; "Who cares?"; or "What's it all about?", then the alpha course could be just what you need to fill in the blanks. At Pip'n'jay this Autumn we wil be running an alpha course using some new alpha material, which means that the presentation is fresh and the course lasts for 7 weeks, rather than the usual 10 weeks. It is held in the church building, and starts with food. The sessions are held in a relaxed, friendly environment, giving you an opportunity to learn more about faith and Christianity, and to discuss some of the burning questions that you may have about God and the meaning of life. 

Alpha has now become a global introduction to the Christian faith, and there are now over 46,000 courses registered and running around the world, and over 15 million people have attended an alpha course, and about 2.5 million of these were in the UK.

Pip n Jay have been running the Alpha course for more than 10 years, and we run both central sources in the main vhurch building and smaller courses in small group settings in peoples homes. We hope to be publishing some stories on this website of people who attended previous courses, and found that their lives were transformed through the process (watch this space!).

A typical alpha evening starts with food; followed by a brief presentation looking at different topics each week, such as "Who is Jesus" and "Why do I pray?" etc... After each talk there is a time of discussion in small groups. Alpha is aimed primarily at those outside the church who are wanting to investigate Christianity, but is also great for new Christians, and newcomers to the church.

There is no charge for the Alpha course, although you may wish to make a contribution towards the food.
