It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... |

We're in Advent season, which means we're getting ready to celebrate Jesus' birth, and we've already lit the first special candles in church. So the website couldn't wait to look a bit more festive. Yule (see what I did there?) need to wrap up warm as it might start snowing!
If you're in need of some Christmas atmosphere at home or at work, we've also posted carols recorded at last year's Pip n Jay Carols by Candlelight service. Hope you can join us for this year's carolling - we start in the streets of the Dings and the Barley Mow pub on Tuesday 15th December. We have an all new Saturday evening post-shopping Carol Service at 5pm on Saturday 19th, and Carols by Candlelight is at 6.30pm on Sunday 20th. Look out for more details of our Christmas celebrations in our What's On guide.

You might have noticed a new "SHARE" button on each article on the site. Its job is to help you share articles you like with your friends, and you can choose how.
For example, you can choose to post a link to the article on your Facebook page, if you have one. Alternatively, you can choose "email" and send a message to people you think will like what you have been reading.
Why is this a good idea? For one thing, we hope you find stories on this site which are worth reading and sharing. There is another benefit too - the more links people post to pipnjay.org, the easier it is for people looking for things we write about to find us. Not only will we be visible in the places you choose to share us, but our visibility in Google and other search engines will rise too. Being more visible helps people find us, and as we are only here to point people to Jesus, it's helping our mission too.
So share what you like - and thanks in advance for helping!
PS - If there are things you would like to see on the website which aren't here yet, or stuff you want more of, please let me know!

From time to time, we need to upgrade bits of the Pip n Jay website, sometimes to keep it safe and secure, and sometimes to add extra features.
Today we did a major revamp of the bits which drive the site membership and logins. There are a few little enhancements that come with this (e.g. a more helpful screen if you forget your login details), but other than these we hope the changes don't get in your way!

What happened to the .uk? |

You might have noticed that typing in pipnjay.org.uk now gets you to pipnjay.org
When we launched this new site at Easter last year, we also (quietly) shortened our domain name.
Why? Pip n Jay is UK-based, but has a global outlook. With a top Pip n Jay priority being the worldwide network and support of missionaries, .org seemed a more appropriate home for us. Plus, it's shorter. That means it's easier to remember and pass on, and passing it on is key for us as we grow up and out together.
It didn't seem worth making a fuss about this, however. So it turns out a lot of people have carried on using .org.uk, and we made both work just the same - until now...
We have some exciting new features on the way, which will make our growing mountain of audio MUCH easier to navigate. We'll also be adding book reviews and, for small group leaders, a database of resources which can help us grow.
This stuff relies on some plugged in code which we can only license for one domain name, not two.
So it's time to shift away from the old pipnjay.org.uk - hopefully, you won't even notice as we quietly redirect you. But if you do find any problems, hopefully this might help: just remove the .uk, and try again. Anything still wrong? Contact webmaster Bern |
