James writes to Jesus’ church scattered throughout time and place. The Holy Spirit gathers Jesus’ church through His inspired word. His holy headlines are grace in the midst of the trials of life; wisdom proved in suffering, and Christ-like character cultivated in the eye of the storm. We are gathered to and by the God who speaks words of life to shape us as we relate to people day by day. This letter omits pretence, but majors on life giving words that inspire joy in those who practice them.
